Jesse James Solomon – We Do

With the British hip-hop scene, there are a lot of up and coming stars, one of which is independent artist, Jesse James Solomon. The South East London rapper has been making waves since dropping his debut EP Jesse From SE in the Autumn of last year. He has been described as an “intelligent, honest poet with a powerful intellectual depth and an appreciation for his humble roots” and has been celebrated by the likes of Noisey, GRM Daily, Hypetrak and RWD Mag.

Jesse builds on his already big reputation by dropping new track ‘We Do’ over the weekend, (which has already clocked up over 17,000 views on Soundcloud). Solomon comes with a deep, monotone flow over a Felix produced instrumental, which definitely has an African/tribal influence. Solomon is a great story-teller and that is evident on this track as he rhymes with a sense of nostalgia and tells tales of his younger years, while switching the flow and singing on the chorus. Fans of Jesse James will notice that this new release stands in contrast to some of his darker tracks, but it will be welcomed as something different and another string to the young spitter’s bow.

Stream the track below and keep it locked to TRAPPED for all upcoming news…
