In honor of Pride Month and to celebrate the LGBTQ community, global workwear brand Dickies announces the launch of its Uniquely Yours, capsule collection.
Designed in partnership with influential LGBTQ creatives in the US and Europe – Los Angeles-based Amber Ibarreche and London-based Rene Matić – the exclusive collection embraces uniqueness and incorporates the personal touch of each artist with their own original designs and powerful messages using Dickies workwear as a canvas. Each artist’s respective pieces are also affectionately signed with “Uniquely Yours,” to further showcase their signature touches on a collection that comes straight from the heart.
Ibarreche is an artist, designer, and poet who thrives on incorporating powerful language into her designs. The Work of Art Bib Overalls feature her impactful patchwork messages and colorful graphic art screen-prints, which aims to inspire hope while recognizing the struggles that many in the LGBTQ community endure every day. Her signature style and contributions to the Uniquely Yours, collection also extend to a custom embroidered, iron-on Patch Set to further celebrate individualism and make a statement.
“When we embrace uniqueness and allow it to distinguish us instead of define us, it becomes a superpower,” said Ibarreche. “My contribution to this collection celebrates that ethos and will hopefully inspire our community to embrace themselves, if they are supported and safe to do so.”
As Pride coincides with an ongoing movement for social justice, Matić, whose artistic disciplines span across painting, sculpture, film, photography, and textile, dedicated her designed Yours, Ours T-Shirt to the black queer community. The Pan-African flag, which represents unity and individualism, is featured on the right sleeve in combination with the signature rainbow colors. Custom screen-printed on the front chest pocket and across the back of the shirt is designed with the words, “Uniquely Yours, Uniquely Ours,” symbolizing the pillars of identity, individualism, and pride.
“I am dedicating my t-shirt to the black queer community,” said Matić. “It often feels like we can’t stake a claim in the rainbow flag so the colors I’ve used reference the Pan-African flag. Pan Africanism fits perfectly with the ‘Uniquely Yours’ theme, it’s about unity, collectivity and transmission but also identity, individualism and pride.”

In honor of the collection, Dickies has donated to Switchboard, a UK-based crisis hotline dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ community, and The Trevor Project, a US-based organization which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people who continue to face discrimination at work, school and in society.
