UNDERATED, a lifestyle brand based in London, unveiled a new capsule collection recently called ‘Under the Wave’. The collection takes inspiration from a famously known Japanese print, ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’, created by 1800’s artist Katsushika Hokusai.

They have incorporated the print and colour scheme from traditional Japanese styles with their own ‘luxury street aesthetic’ to create a collection of tees that are minimalistic yet striking and represent the ethos of the brand.

The t-shirts have features of screen printing on the sleeves and bottom of the tees with numbers ’00’ screen printed on the back (which represents the notion of being nothing or notion of being UNDERATED) with Japanese letters ‘過小評価 pronounced ‘Kashō hyōka’ printed above (which translates to underestimation). The collection will be available soon online.
