At this week’s all-important E3 2013 trade show, 6 hours after the unveiling of Microsofts Xbox one Sony executives smiled confidently as they walked on stage to present the Sony Playstation 4.
With a custom 8-core x86-64 “Jaguar” by AMD and a AMD Radeon 1.84 TFLOPS GPU, the PS4 is the fastest gaming console created by Sony, With an impressive 8GB GDDR5 RAM, 500GB storage, and Blu-Ray, this is a major headache for its rivals. Another defining feature of this console is the price, at £255 it is going to be around £70 cheaper than the Xbox One. Sony execs decided to battle the Xbox one directly by stating on stage that “When a gamer buys a PS4 disc, they have the rights to use that disc, resell it, lend it to a friend or keep it forever.” a clear reference to the fact that unlike with the Xbox one PS4 gamers will not need to “report” to a central data center all the time, Instead, the console can be operated without any connection to the Internet.
