Sister brands ‘Onitsuka Tiger’ and ‘ASICS’ have collaborated with Scotland’s innovative sneaker store, ‘Hanon’ unleashing unveiling an exclusive ‘Glover Pack’
Inspired by Aberdeenshire’s very own Samurai and Thomas Blake Glover who, in the 19th century’ supplied the samurai clans with ships and weaponry, the pack unites Japanese heritage with Scottish roots
Onitsuka Tiger’s COLORADO EIGHTY-FIVE is inspired by Japan, the land of the rising sun. This silhouette features a black and golden yellow colourway on a mix of premium perforated suede, Nubuck leather and synthetic overlays.
A speckled lace-stay and heel counter represents Glover’s tea trade, whilst his iconic moustache is embossed on the heel. The silver around the Tiger stripes pay homage to the admirable influence he had on Japan’s industrial revolution.
The ASICS GEL-EPIRUS’ colourway represents the national Scottish emblem, the thistle. The mint green suede and purple Nubuck leather combined with a quilted collar lining and tartan in-sock epitomize patriotism and is finished with an embossed thistle detail on the heel and a signature Hanon flame called on the footbed.
