In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 95 the brand has been looking back at the anatomy of what is now an iconic shoe. Before the good times for the silhouette though the 95 was nearly a myth, as it had to go through numerous assessments before finally getting the green light. Sergio Lozano Nike’s footwear designer overcome a lot of obstacles, but his vision and resilience helped him persevere with his design – which took inspiration from the Oregon scenery and the colourful striations of the Grand Canyon’s walls – even in the midst of criticism.
