Lucas Dipasquale, the teenage Canadian singer gained a lot of attention last year when he uploaded his now famous acoustic mash-up of hits (‘Road Affi Tek On’, ‘Ravin’ and ‘Only Man She Want’) by Jamaican dancehall star Popcaan. The video gained love worldwide as renowned US music magazine FADER instantly picked it up and artists Kano and Krept & Konan tweeted the video out to their network of fans.
With all this support, it was only a matter of time before Jamaica took note and over the last year, the Jamaica Observer covered the video, radio stations Nationwide 90 FM and Timeline featured Lucas on their shows and popular Jamaican TV program Onstage TV interviewed him. Popcaan then personally invited the Toronto born singer out to Jamaica to perform at the big 2014 Jamaica Dream Weekend event with him in front of thousands.
His success has gone from strength to strength and in June of this year, he released his first official track featuring Kardinal Offishall, Stylo G & Konshens entitled ‘Do It Like‘ and released a video filmed in the streets of downtown Kingston. The track and video have been received well and it currently has over 195,000 views. Now he is back alongside good friend Popcaan for new hit ‘No Talking‘. The track is a smooth and light number but sees both enjoying themselves and is perfect for a lazy afternoon.
