UK based fashion label KTZ was scrutinized for replicating an indigenous design bred from the Native American community for its AW15 collection. The sweater was said to be designed by the last Sharman of the Canadian Inuit according to his great-granddaughter Salome Awa. The brand sent an apology letter to Awa to which she replied:

“I’m kind of happy about it, but sad at the same time. They didn’t even mention an apology to my great-grandfather and they didn’t even offer any monetary gains to our family.” When inspiration is accused as plagiarism, it’s hard to distinguish the fine line between the two.
