As Autumn approaches, the sun continues to shine and what better way to enjoy our current heatwave than sampling some of the best festivals that the UK has to offer. August and September have a variety of festivals to experience and TRAPPED list the ones to watch, including vital information and who’s gracing the stages:
Boomtown
7th-10th August
Boomtown is back for another year of magic by creating a pop up town with city districts and a collection of music stages and art stalls which adds to the overall experience. Boomtown specialises in dub, ska and reggae and this year is no different with appearances from Jimmy Cliff, The Skints and Mr Boombastic himself, Shaggy!
V Festival
16th/17th August
V festival continues to build on its success of previous years with a star studded line up including the likes of Justin Timberlake, The Killers, Paulo Nutini, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental. The festival is being held at two venues with acts swapping over the Saturday/Sunday so get a programme to make sure you don’t miss your favourite act.
South West Four (SW4)
23rd/24th August
Now in its historic 10th year, SW4 brings vibes of Dub-Step, DnB and dance to the August bank holiday weekend. With sets from legendary DJs such as DeadMau5 and Pete Tong, expect performances of epic proportions which will make you glad you’ve got the bank holiday Monday to recover! There are also special guest performances from Pusha T and Gorgon City to look forward to as well.
Bestival
4th-7th September
Any hip-hop/rap fan would be drawn to this festival because of headline performances expected from Outkast and Busta Rhymes, but this festival as a whole has a lot more to offer. Bestival looks to offer variety and this year is no different with comedy sets over the weekend and live art exhibitions going on as well. This, mixed with performances from Disclosure, Major Lazer and Paloma Faith, make the trip to the Isle of Wight all the worth while.
Ceremony Festival
13th September
Ceremony was a last minute wildcard included in this list but with talent on show and for the price it is (£25), it would feel wrong to exclude it. A number of hosted stages look to deliver a mix of Grime, Drum n Bass and Garage with performances from Skepta, Logan Sama, JME and Oxide & Neutrino. An after party is being arranged at EGG London to carry on the festivities well into the night and close the festival season with a bang!
