BOXFRESH

Boxfresh is a menswear brand know for keeping it simple and classic, however throughout 2014 the brand has been celebrating its 25th anniversary with some pretty out there events and party’s, one of their last events of the year was the 89:14 – 3 day exhibition, celebrating key moments and trends in what we call streetwear culture, from punk in 1989 to garage throughout the 90’s up through Grime and to the present day.

As well as showcasing styled mannequins by stylists including Cass Pennant, Kish Kash, Valentina T, Ella Dror and Skepta the exhibition included a talk from Ewen Spencer on the history of Grime to show link between the Musical genre and streetwear, and the James Hyman Archive, the biggest collection of Popular Culture Magazines in existence. The Exhibition was hosted at one of East London’s most progressive creative exhibition spaces, Londonewcastle Project Space and curated by Tory Turk. We were down at the Project space on the opening evening to get some pics and enjoy the live DJ sets from Josey Rebelle (Rinse FM) and Mr Wonderful (NTS).

Check out the pics and don’t forget to check out the latest collections from Boxfresh here.
