Bonkaz’s song ‘We Run the Block’ has had a lot of promo recently and the track has been setting social media ablaze ever since the full audio was released 2 weeks ago. After only be played at live performances, the Heavytrackerz produced track had a lot of people talking and taking notice of Bonkaz as an up and comer in the scene and part of the “new generation”.
This week saw the official release of the video and it was well worth the wait. The video, which premiered on Channel AKA and was shared online via Noisey, sees the Croydon MC and his crew around the bits. The slick and simplistic black and white video also sees cameos from Renz, Etta Bond and P Money. The video seems like a throwback to early rap, and even grime, videos with an urban backdrop and a mixture of different filters applied. While many have commented on its simple style, it seems that less is more and the video still packs a heavy punch.
