Word on the street is that Apple may be testing up to five different designs, each of which features a drastic change on the cellular device. A leak found on Weibo suggests that the new iPhone 7 is set to be released sometime in 2016, is very slim. The big worry about this is that it means that there’s less room inside for battery, which will have an impact on battery life. It’s a little early to start panicking yet though, as reduced battery life is not a certainty and there are a few tricks that Apple might have up its sleeve. The leak also suggests that us non-android users will finally have the privilege of not worrying about water damage, yes the new iPhone 7 will be waterproof, a feature Android users have had for YEARS. The leak also suggests the potential removal of the Lightning port suggesting a standardized move toward the USB Type-C port for smart phones. Other potential changes include suggestions that Apple may be looking into wireless charging, with the removal of the sync/charge port. Lastly there is substantial evidence suggesting improved multi-touch 3D Touch capabilities as well as dual camera functionality. This would give iPhones optical zoom functionality and in-display fingerprint recognition which would mean no more home button!

Keep an eye out for more news on the iPhone 7 in 2016.
