Apple got the wrong reaction last year when they unveiled the IOS 6 update and the tech geeks had forgotten to pay enough attention the Maps app. Many Technology forecasters said that Apple would never bounce back from that tarnishing of their up until then glowing reputation. Well just like Englands Weather forecasters they were wrong! less than a year later, they’re all singing the company’s praises and reinvesting in Apple shares.
iOS 7 was unveiled today at WWDC 13 Apple’s latest mobile operating system. The iOS 7 is “a pure representation of simplicity” yet “takes full advantage of technologies.” according to Craig Federighi Apples Senior vice president of Software Engineering and better yet he says it is “…the most significant iOS update since the original iPhone…”
The Apple tech team went have re-designed every aspect of the operating system, right down to its typography and color palette. One great feature is the new home screen. Some of the feature we are feeling are:
- Siri – Both male and female voices and Twitter search integration. you can ask Siri to do loads more like search Wikipedia, change device settings and play back voicemail.
- Notification Center – Now from the Lock screen you can see all your notifications with a simple swipe. The new Today feature in Notification Center gives you a preview of your day with a summary of the weather, traffic, meetings and events.
- AirDrop – AirDrop shows you your contacts close by. Just select who you want to share with and AirDrop does the rest. You can use it anywhere, without any network or set up, and transfers are fully encrypted so your content is protected and private.
- Camera – New filters have been included so you can add real-time photo effects. A square camera option has now been added, and you can quickly and easily switch between all cameras with just a swipe.iOS 7 will be available this Autumn We will keep you informed of the actual date.
