South London Rapper Fuzay has jumped into the UK Rap game on a straight boss tip, immediately setting levels by flying in a helicopter in the visual for Ballers anthem I Aint one of them, with his debut Mixtape dropping the roads hollering his name and plenty of shiny things on his Instagram, it was only right that we found out more.

Where did the name Fuzay come from?

Well, Fuze for short, that’s been my old name for anything even graffiti days on the wall. Fuzay came from when some American girls thought I was bossy. So it kind of stuck from then and the crowd I was with called me Fuzay and it sounded dope, so why not? If you actually analyse the name ‘Fuzay’ it feels like electric and bossy and I am my own boss, so that’s how it goes.

Who are your favourite musical influences right now?

I don’t really have musical influences, I listen to a lot of Future, Rich Homie, Thug, I listen to Drake, Meek Mills, Jay Z, Fabulous, Jadakiss, they’re my guys.

What makes you stand out as an artist ?

I am a rapper’s rapper. I am a lyrical rapper, that is my forte, I would say I bring a lot of energy and I’m ready to put my money where my mouth is and I would say I bring realness, if I say if I have this on a track, lord knows I got this or I can get it,

So I ain’t gonna do a boring video, I want to catch people’s eyes and say woah, look at what he’s doing. Obviously I don’t own a helicopter and some people say in the YouTube comments say stuff. Then I say, do you think some of the people in America have big mansions and all that, do you think they own it? It’s to look good, to set the scene and go back and make it look nice, I want the video to be entertaining. That’s all it is, catching people’s ear, catching people’s eye.

You just released ‘Winnaz Therapy’  what was it like writing it? Do you go through a certain process when you are writing tracks?

It was a journey, not every track made it to ‘Winnaz Therapy’, I went through different types of things in life so I think every track will represent different things, knock it back with Paigey was easy cos we were in a good vibe in the studio, the outro and the intro were more from a heartfelt place, I Ain’t one of them was vibey, 100, vibey, Talk of the Town, vibey. It was about what I felt like during the day, and different beats I heard and what the beat said back to me.

You mentioned I Ain’t One of Them, how was it working with Young Spray?

Yeah it was great, he’s a good guy. It came organically, he came to the studio to do something else and came to say hello and he heard me working on the track and said it was dope and I said “ You can jump on it if you want”, he came back in wrote his bars on the spot and boom that was it.

That track was actually over a year old. We made it just after New Years, the video came a long time after that.

Do you think your fan base has grown since your videos have been on UK Media platforms such as Link Up TV?

A little bit, fans are hard to come by to be honest, some people were there since the get go, it’s all about building at the same time , it is a bit hard to judge but since I have been putting stuff out I have been getting a lot of good feedback and a lot of people trying to support my movement

If you could do a collaboration with any artist who would it be, excluding the ones you have been with before?

It would probably be Beyonce, Rihanna and Taylor Swift, because they’re gonna make good music.

You said ‘I Ain’t One of them’ took a long time to come out, how long did it take for 100 to come out?

Well it was shot last year as well. We were literally waiting. We shot ‘I ain’t one of them, but we didn’t like it ,so we had to re shoot but I had an accident in Malia with Chip and I came back and had to recover. But I actually shot 100 before we reshot I Ain’t One of Them, so that’s why it took longer to come out. I was going to throw ‘100′ out, but we decided to wait. So we put I Ain’t One of Them out first, because of the time of the year, also.

Describe yourself in 10 words

Exciting, energetic, go getter, winner, stoner, gentlemen, ladies man, money man, inspirational and positive.

So you say inspirational, do you have any advice for people that want to become a rapper like you?

Go for it, make good music, to be honest it’s hard, people are going to say ‘no that doesn’t sound good’. Go with what your heart says. Having a good track on your laptop is nothing, you have to put music out and stay consistent. You have to be in people’s face and ears, annoying them, until they get it. So hopefully, if they do get it and if your music is that dope, then you are on your way.

What can we look forward to from you this year?

This Sunday, I’ve got a track coming out with Nafe Smalls, from Luton, my guy, he’s the future! the tracks called ‘ Same Old Hype, I released a preview on my Instagram its gonna be dropping on GRM Daily. I have actually got a new project finished, in the can, I might throw that out a bit earlier, or in the summer. I’m trying to drop three projects this summer. The industry is gonna have a lot to say about me, I’m gonna flood everybody’s timeline, flood everyone’s Insta timelines and everything.
