Upon looking at the official Instagram of London based singer/songwriter Aaron London, it would be fair to say that he is doing well. His latest track ‘In The Cut’ has been streamed over 70,000 times on Soundcloud and various videos have been uploaded to YouTube amassing over 5,000 views. The track, which samples San Juan Sunset‘s ‘Deodato’ and features the jazz vocalist Masego, has also been played on major radio stations from KISS FM to Julie Adenuga‘s show on Beats 1 Radio. While the track oozes a laid back jazz vibe with excellent saxophone synths, this is simply the latest project from Aaron London, who is simply a certified hit maker.

Since his humble beginnings in Newham, East London, Aaron London first came into the light as a producer when he was credited on rapper Intact’s Channel AKA track ‘In The Cut’. Off the back of this success, he released his first self-titled projectAaron London and the lead single ‘The Other Side’, featuring Amanda Mellid, gained a substantial amount of support from fans and critics alike. This led to a string of covers and features on YouTube, as well as maintaining his production credits on the side. Major hits include ‘Turn It Up’ [feat. Kieron Boothe and Gabby Ranks] and ‘Turn Me On‘ [feat. Mz Bratt].

The compilation of musical genres doesn’t throw anyone off; rather it draws everyone who can appreciate at least something from this mesh of styles. London maintains that line between animated and strong hardcore sounds, which lock in with his reflective sensibilities when he sings. However, at times when the levels of pitch are being altered his voice can be distracting.

Last year, Aaron dropped another strong body of music with 2014’s The Art of Procrastination which was credited for its effective use of genre blending, mixing singing and rapping with rap, pop, dance and jazz influences. There were many standout hits of the album including ‘P.Y.P (Play Your Position)’ which was a fun track with an upbeat tempo which had all the credentials of being a chart hit. This combined with becoming a larger personality in the scene and getting more airplay allowed Aaron London to get a larger fan base.

For the last couple of months, Aaron London has sky rocketed with a string of smash hits, all offering something new and showing how versatile he is an artist. The first was the summer release ‘Funk Brasileiro‘ with was a fun mash up of trap, hip hop and soca whilst second release ‘Blessed‘ saw a link up with Loopz for a laid back, soulful number. Both tracks made for serious hits and further proved his abilities as an artist and producer. Which leads us to ‘In The Cut‘ and Aaron London gaining more and more exposure in the UK and beyond. While it is yet unknown what is next for Aaron London, it’s clear that there are big things in the making for Mr LDN.
