GQ’s “Best New Menswear Designers in America” was started by the menswear magazine to highlight emerging American menswear designers. The program now includes a new collection entitled the “Coolest Designers on the Planet”, in collaboration with US fashion brand Gap.
The collection includes special limited-edition pieces from French brand AMI, Brooklyn-based Kinfolk and Tokyo’s United Arrows & Sons
Each designer has been tasked with reimagining casual staples such as T-shirts, crewneck pullovers, button-down shirts, denims, and accessories.
GQ editor-in-chief, Jim Nelson, spoke about the project:
“We knew expanding this collaboration and taking it international would add vibrancy to the program, and this year’s amazing designers certainly brought it. Now comes the best part: We can’t wait to see the clothes hit Gap stores, because this year feels very special.”
The collection will debut on September 26th at participating Gap stores and via its online shop.
