We’re seven months deep into 2014 and already there has been an exciting emergence of a new breed of rappers from the UK’s underground Music game and TRAPPED look to feature three of the most promising looking artists on the scene today:
#1 – Nick Brewer
Nick Brewer has been gaining popularity and after signing with Island Records earlier this year, he has recently dropped Four Miles Further, a six track EP including guest appearances from other UK stars such as Max Marshall and George the Poet. A combination of slick lyrics, a smooth flow and jazz infused instrumentals, make Nick Brewer a name to watch in the future.
#2 – Cynikal
Cynikal (real name Tavinder Sanghera) has always been known for his powerful lyrics, filled with hard hitting symbolism and clever use of metaphors. This was enforced by the release of his latest EP Toby which got him noticed by names such as SBTV and the BBC. Cynikal proves that hes not just another rapper by producing and engineering many of his own tracks.
#3 Little Simz
No list of emerging rappers would be complete without the powerhouse that is Little Simz. After releasing her lastest project E.D.G.E (Every Day Gets Easier) in June of this year, she has gone from strength to strength. Her personality and character really shone through on her recent Fire in the Booth appearance and certified her as a real player in the game.
