CREPE CITY 7 – Exclusive Recap

Crepe City 7 has shown us that Sneaker mania has finally hit the UK and hit it hard. (If you was queueing up you’ll know what I mean) Shoreditch, the place to be at the moment for happening brands and street culture, saw people from all walks of life descend upon the Underground nightclub a couple of Sundays back for what has to have been the UK’s biggest sneaker fair ever. The trainers on display in the queues were impressive, everyone that came to buy or trade bought out their best kicks and I spent my time playing name the kicks with my circle spotting Air max1 safari’s, Yeezy’s, Huarache’s and loads more until eventually we were allowed in to feast our eye’s on row upon row of Deadstock, retro and super sexy kicks from every brand conceivable, including Nike, Jordans, Ewings New Balance and Adidas.

You could hardly move as bodies and hands were moving in sync like treasure hunters searching, touching and scanning for their personal Holy Grails. A good thing I noticed at this sneakerhead paradise was the quantity and variety of ladies trainers there were (A big shout out to Small feet Big kicks) which is a good indicator that the passion for trainers is contagious and everyone has it.

The big boys of the trainer retail game were there: Global sports, Foot Patrol and Tapis Rouge as well as some super cool tables from independant sellers and collectors. A nice touch was the appearance of UK clothing Brands Playdot apparrell and Benjart clothing making sure that if for some amazing reason a person didn’t cop thier dream kicks they still left with a shopping bag. This was not just a glorified indoor market this was a massive social event and it attracted celebs and V.I.P’s, shout out to J2K, Youngs Teflon and London Go Getters For the interviews and freebies.
