So UK Rap is officially being monitored by the Rap heavyweights in the US they are feeling our workrate. The proof of this? UK Music Sources say Rick Ross has just Signed Charlie Sloth BBC 1xtra’s UK Hiphop Show DJ pioneer of the Rap game’s iconic Fire in the Booth Freestyle series.
Rick Ross has appeared on Charlie Sloth’s show twice this year and following those appearances flew into the UK for 1 xtra Live in Birmingham to watch Charlie do his thing, according to UK Music online platform GRM Daily this is where the UK DJ signed his deal, which could explain why days later a teaser ad for Charlie’s upcoming Mixtape ‘Hoodheat’ has the Maybach Boss Co-signing him and ending the cameo with the words “He one of us”. This is definitely a power move for Charlie but most importantly it is a power move for UK Rap Music, if the Music gets the States gassed and the fans love it the bonus is that US Record Labels and A&R’s know exactly how to market a Rapper so the possibilities for the UK Rap scene would be endless.
