Chance The Rapper gave us all a Sunday treat this week with the aptly named Sunday Candy, which will feature on Chance’s forthcoming album Surf with Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. The track itself was released late in 2014 and Chance has previously commented that the song is “specifically is a great representation of [The Social Experiment’s] collaborative effort.
“It’s my curation, but then bringing it to the table with all these beautiful people and including them in their own way. Jamila sang on that hook, then I brought it to the collective. Peter added some great layers of texture and helped produce, Nate added a bunch of drums, tons of our friends from Chicago played instruments and added their ideas.”
The video was directed by Austin Vesely and is a one take video, including an elaborate stage production, colourful back drops and a cast of extras supplying the back up routine. Check out the video below and keep locked to TRAPPED for updates…
