Known for its signature hydrophobic spray, the innovative footwear protection brand, Crep Protect have launched a Sneaker Drop recycling point today, 18th November 2015, at East London’s BoxPark, Shoreditch.

The pop-up mall in BoxPark is a natural gathering spot for sneakerheads, its refitted shipping containers offers a unique space for stores and events. Jason Black, co-founder of Crep Protect explains “The sneaker community is absolutely thriving in the UK and is an integral part of the culture. We are looking to rally their support to not only give back to those in need but create an actively engaged community. Packed with two things close to our heart – innovation and attitude – the BoxPark Shoreditch is the perfect place to launch the initiative as it is already a living, breathing neighbourhood.”

Crep Protect aims to help Variety, the children’s charity, raise money by encouraging people to donate their unwanted trainers and footwear at the recycling initiative. The ERC (European Recycling Company Ltd) will collect the shoes and make a donation to Variety, which will help the charity to improve the lives of young people. Variety raises funds for children with ill-health, disadvantage, and disability. The initiative also aims to eventually spread out over London and the rest of the UK.
