adidas Moves Towards Athlete Focused Sportswear With ‘adidas Athletics’

Adidas has literally ran through the industry this year and doesn’t show any signs of stopping anytime soon taking the marathon approach rather than a sprint.

They held a private event in NYC for the ZNE hoodie collection. August 30th marked the day Adidas brought its latest apparel in the form of Adidas Athletics; an athlete-focused collection that’s meant to separate itself from the market of sportswear. Each piece in the collection is designed for athletes to maximise their potential whilst training. The designs are minimal, yet feature fabrics dependant on each player and their sport. The standout piece is the ZNE (“Zero Negative Energy”) Hoodie providing a modern approach to the traditional pre-game outwear that apparently aids in “removing external distractions to maximise focus.”

The private launch party was held for industry leaders, influencers, athletes and performers. Guest speakers included Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Joakim Noah of the New York Knicks, VP of Training for adidas North America Kate Ridley and VP of design for adidas Training & Sportswear Rob Lee. Musical performances by Metro Boomin’ and Fetty Wap graced the mic and the audience to round off a successful launch party.

We look forward to seeing what Adidas have under their sleeves in the coming months.
